About

Claudia Peak
US Chess Federation(USCF), District Chess Coach, level 2
USCF local Tournament Director

Mrs. Peak teaches many students in and around Kingwood, TX. She teaches beginners (k +) and has helped many experienced chess players eager for a new challenge.
As a local Tournament Director, she prepares students to play by all the rules of chess. Just as in any athletic sport, learning by the rules is essential to any personal improvement. She also organizes and directs at various local rated chess tournaments.

Her chess journey started like most at a young age, at home with family and friends. Many years later, she taught her two boys at the age of three and four. Having worked with her own children, she brings a depth of instructional experience and knowledge to those who are eager to expand their minds, talents and skills.

Since about 2017, Mrs. Peak has coached at Riverwood Middle school, Humble ISD and has helped the club grow. Over the years, students have earned various team trophies as well as individual accolades.

When she isn’t working on her next chess move, Mrs. Peak runs her own small business. She enjoys travelling with her family. Loves gardening, cooking, reading, cycling and spends time volunteering around the community.

Matthew Peak, c/o 2024

Matthew is passionate about chess and is always ready to help others in their chess journey. He has first hand experience and knowledge from beginner to intermediate/advanced techniques.
